SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior captain Emily Irwin (Billerica, Mass.) of the Curry College women's basketball team has been named to the Honor Roll of the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) weekly awards.

Irwin averaged 18 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 4.0 steals per game in a 2-0 week for Curry. The senior captain began the week with 15 points on 7-of-18 shooting and added eight rebounds, seven steals and four assists in a 63-42 victory over Gordon. She then rounded out the week with 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and one steal in a 73-57 win at Wentworth.

The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) provides support for coaches from the New England Region. Membership in NEWBA is open to all Division III head coaches from the region who have a vested interest in the welfare of the organization. At the conclusion of each season, the NEWBA sponsors the Senior All-Star Classic.

Curry returns to the court on Wednesday, February 13 when they host Roger Williams at 5:30 p.m. on Senior Night.
