Roach, Hefler, Stento Compete at ITA New England Regionals

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Three student-athletes from the Curry College men's tennis team traveled to Middlebury, Vermont to participate in the ITA Men's Tennis New England Regional. Aidan Roach (Norwell, Mass.) participated in the singles portion of the competition while Dawson Stento (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) and Richie Hefler (Canton, Conn.) teamed up for the doubles competition.

After dropping the first set to Blake Norton (Stratford, Conn.) of Nichols College 6-0, Roach responded to the second 6-1. The match went to a tiebreaker in lieu of a third set in which Roach edged Norton 11-9. With the victory, Roach advanced into the main draw. He then dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision to Bowdoin's Justin Wang (Short Hills, N.J.) in the afternoon session.

Stento and Hefler were defeated in doubles play by the Middlebury College doubles team of Weston Brach (Dover, Mass.) and David Vilys (Naples, Fla.) by an 8-0 final.  

The Colonels will return to action in March for the beginning of their traditional season.
