Men's Soccer Pummels Plymouth State

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College defeated Plymouth State 4-3 Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference collegiate men's soccer match at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the win, the Colonels improve to an overall record of 6-7-1 while remaining 0-2-1 in Conference of New England play.

After falling by a goal, the Colonels evened the score at 1-1 when Giovanni Martins (Brockton, Mass.) took a corner kick, finding Naytik Vora (Mumbai, India) who scored his first goal of the season in the 22nd minute of play.

Trailing 2-1 with 26 minutes elapsed from the game clock, Jaiden Fils-Aime (Peabody, Mass.) sent the ball through a pair of Plymouth defenders, finding Kaden Puglia (Marshfield, Mass.) who scored his first goal of the year and tied the game at 2-2. The Colonels took their first lead of the game less than eight minutes later when Martins dished out his second assist of the game on a corner kick, this time finding defender Ryan Treacy (Marshfield, Mass.) who scored his first career goal to put Curry on top 3-2.

Aiden Watts (Plaistow, N.H.) punched in the final Colonel goal in the 36th minute of play, scoring a team-high sixth goal of the season to give Curry a 4-2 buffer. He was assisted on the play by Puglia.

Ryan McGourty (Scituate, Mass. ) was in goal for the Colonels, making nine saves to earn the win in his first start of the season.

Curry College returns to conference play with a home match against Hartford on Friday, October 11th, beginning at 7 p.m.
