Hockey Claims Two Seed, First Round Bye For CCC Championship Tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Curry College men's ice hockey team has claimed number two seed for the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship Tournament, earning a first round bye.

Salve Regina enters the tournament field for the second year in a row as the number one seed and also earned a first round bye.

The first of the quarterfinals pin sixth seed Wentworth against third seeded University of New England, a contest that will take place on Wednesday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m. The other quarterfinal matchup features fifth seeded Endicott traveling to fourth seed Nichols on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m.

Following the quarterfinals the teams will be re-seeded for the semifinals, which will take place on Saturday, February 23. The lowest remaining seed will head to Salve Regina for one semifinal, while the second lowest seed will travel to Curry. Game times for the semifinal round will be determined after the completion of the first round.

The two semifinal winners will square off in the CCC Men's Ice Hockey Championship, which will take place on Saturday, March 2. The winner will be named the CCC Tournament Champion and will receive the conference's automatic bid into the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship.
