MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.
We continue the series with Kelsie Rainone (Plainville, Mass.), a rising senior from our women's cross country program:
How did you get into your sport? I have always loved running. The coach and the team were very welcoming.
Why did you choose Curry? It was a small campus and is comparable to my former school Mount Ida College.
What hobbies do you have outside your sport? I enjoy being outside and spending time with family and friends.
Are you involved in other activities on the Curry campus? If so, please explain. I am part of the intramurals staff, I work at the Curry Early Childhood Center, and I'm going to be an RA this year.
What is your dream job? My dream job is to work in the early intervention field with a concentration in speech pathology.
What is your greatest sports moment? When my coach asked to be captain of the cross country team.
What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Team bonding through community service.
Interesting fact about yourself? I enjoy archery and fishing.
Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. Travel to Paris, 2. Buy a goat, 3. Go to Hawaii.
Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? I stretch with my team and we all warm up together.
