Leary Leads Cross Country at Elms Blazer Invitational
CHICOPEE, Mass. -- The Curry College women’s cross country team posted a solid seventh place finish among 15 teams competing on Saturday morning at the Elms Blazer Invitational.

The Colonels were led by freshman Jessica Leary (Pembroke, Mass.), who finished in 40th place with a time of 22:53.  Other Curry finishers were freshman Joyce Simon (Pembroke, Mass.), 23:46 (52nd), senior Amy Comeroski (Exeter, R.I.), 24:59   (66th), freshman Victoria Norton (Fairfield, Conn.), 26:37 (80th), sophomore Avery Struthers (Hamden, Mass.), 27:04 (86th), sophomore Jacquelyn Young (Randolph, Mass.),29:37 (111th).

Salve Regina took top honors in the team competition with a score of 31 points, while the University of New England (35 points) and Rhode Island College (112 points) finished as the respective runner-up and third place squads in the event.

Curry returns to action on Saturday October 1, heading to Wenham, Mass. to compete at the Gordon Pop Crowell Invitational that begins at 11:00 a.m.
