
West Hartford, CT - The Curry Women's Volleyball suffered a defeat at Hartford on Wednesday, falling in straight sets to the Nor'easters. The Colonels are now 1-19 on the season, and 0-5 in CNE play, while Hartford is now 8-9 and 3-2.
The home team Hartford got out to a quick start, leading 9-2 early in the first set. Three straight points from Curry inched them closer, but an answer of six straight points by Hartford gave them a commanding lead. They would go on to win the first set 25-10.
The second set was a similar story, as the Hawks led 7-2. A Curry run made it 7-6, and the set sat tied at 13. But a 6-0 Hartford run gave them control, and they took the set 25-16.
The third set saw Curry grab a lead at 16-13. But Hartford would score 12 of the next 13 points to win the set 25-17, and the match 3-0.
Jess Sullivan and Meghan Abbott each had two kills to lead the team. Abby Sousa had four set assists. Her 519 career set assists rank her sixth in program history. She also was second on the team with five digs, just one behind Sonja Matheson's six.
Up Next - The Colonels will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host Gordon at 10am.
