
MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated in four sets by Mitchell College in a non-conference collegiate women's volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.
With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 0-12 while maintaining a conference record of 0-1.
After dropping the first set, the Colonels persevered in the second, overcoming a 23-17 deficit to steal the set and pick up the squad's first set victory of the season. A kill from Kyah Earls (San Francisco, Calif.) began a 10-1 scoring run for Curry, which included a pair of service aces by Morgan Kramer (Brightwaters, N.Y.) and additional kills from Sonja Matheson (Voluntown, Conn.) and Meghan Abbott (Stoughton, Mass.).
Earls led the home team with 11 kills and 10 digs while Abby Sousa (Seekonk, Mass. ) dished out a team-high 20 assists.
Curry College returns to action on Wednesday, October 2nd, with a road match against Western New England beginning at 6 p.m.
