Milton, MA - the Curry College Department of Athletics announced this week that Men's Volleyball coach Alex Adelman will also be taking the reigns of the Women's Volleyball team as their head coach.
Adelman came to Curry in February, and has already made an impact as the Men's Volleyball coach. Prior to Curry, he spent the previous two years at his alma mater Elmira as an assistant for both their men and women teams.
"I would personally like to thank Athletic Director Vinnie Eruzione and the Curry College Athletic Department for their continued trust in me," said Adelman. "I am honored and very excited about this opportunity of taking on the role of Women's Volleyball head coach."
In addition to his role at Elmira, Adelman also served as the head coach of the Elmira Heat 18u women's volleyball team, as well coaching experience with Sportime VBC and the Southern Tier Volleyball Club.
"Curry College is very excited to have Alex take on this larger role in the program as the head coach of our men's and women's volleyball programs. In his short time as the Men's Volleyball coach he has been a relentless worker and recruiter. I have no doubt that he will continue in that with our women's team," said Eruzione.
Adelman also played for the men's volleyball team at Elmira prior to becoming a coach, appearing in 88 matches. During his playing career he was named the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year in 2020, and was named to the United Volleyball Conference All-Academic Team from 2019-2022. He graduated from Elmira with a degree in Adolescence Education and Mathematics in 2022, and the received his master's from Elmira in 2023 in General Education.
"Having already spent the past few weeks helping the women's team with their spring practices, I am looking forward to continuing to work with them in a larger capacity. I truly believe that we are just beginning to build something special here at Curry!"
