Women's Volleyball Dropped by UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine - The Curry College women's volleyball team fell 3-0 to the University of New England Thursday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at the Harold Alfond Forum. Set scores were 25-17, 25-15, 25-13.

With the defeat, Curry drops to 4-16 overall on the season and 0-4 in the CCC.

Senior Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.) led the way for Curry with a team-high eight kills in the defeat, and chipped in defensively with eight digs.

Classmate Avia Fraine (Mattapoisett, Mass.) led Curry defensively with 10 digs, her ninth double-digit dig performance of the season.

Junior middle Jess Sullivan (Meredith, N.H.) posted five digs, three service aces, and a career-high three blocking in the losing effort.

Next up for the Colonels, they will return to action at home on Wednesday, hosting Western New England University. First serve from Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium is slated for 6 p.m.
