Women's Volleyball Outpaced by Elms

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated by Elms College in three straight sets on Tuesday night in non-conference collegiate women's volleyball action at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-14, 25-10, and 25-17.

With the loss, Curry falls to 4-15 on the season. The Colonels remain 0-3 in Commonwealth Coast Conference play.

Trailing 19-10 in the third set, the Colonels attempted the comeback, stringing together a 6-1 scoring run that included kills by Emma St. Cyr (Dover, N.H.), Leah Oscar-Phoenix (Westwood, Mass.), and Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.).

Jess Sullivan (Meredith, N.H.) and Guzman led the Colonels with four kills while Sonja Matheson (Voluntown, Conn.) and Avia Friane (Mattapoisett, Mass.) finished with 13 digs each. Abby Sousa (Seekonk, Mass.) ended the match with a team-high eight digs.

Curry College returns to action on Thursday (10/12) in a road matchup against the University of New England beginning at 6 p.m.
