Women's Volleyball Defeated in Five Sets

FRANKLIN, Mass - Curry College women's volleyball was defeated in five sets by Dean College in non-conference action Tuesday night at Pieri Gymnasium. Set scores were 26-28, 22-25, 25-14, 25-16, 15-7.

The Colonels got out to a hot start, taking set one by a slim margin thanks to a service ace by Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.) to score the 28th point of the set and give Curry a 1-0 match lead.

In the second set, the Colonels were trailing 22-21 when Dean committed an attack error, giving the ball back to Curry. Consecutive kills by Guzman and Jenna Cotter (Watertown, Mass.), an attack error by the Bulldogs, and another service ace by Guzman ended set two in favor of the Colonels.

From there, Dean climbed back into the game and completed a reverse sweep on the Colonels, taking the match in five sets.
