Women's Volleyball Defeated by Mitchell

NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Curry College women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference competition to Mitchell College by a final score of 3-1 Saturday afternoon at the Yarnall Center. Set scores were 25-18, 25-16, 18-25, 25-14.

With the defeat, Curry moves to 3-12 overall on the season.

Colonel senior Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.) had a career afternoon for Curry, notching a career-best 21 kills in the defeat. Guzman also finished the day with 10 digs, securing her seventh double-double of the season.

Guzman was one of three Colonels to hit double figures in digs, led by junior libero Avia Fraine (Mattapoisett, Mass.), who recorded 14. Sophomore Lexie Jenkins (Burns, Wyo.) matched Guzman with 10 digs, good for her second double-digit dig performance on the year.

Next up for the Colonels, they will return home to begin a three-match homestand on Tuesday night against the University of New England. First serve is slated for 6 p.m.
