Women's Volleyball Swept by Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Curry College women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Endicott College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at MacDonald Gymnasium. Set scores were 25-20, 25-14, 25-13.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 11-13 overall on the season and 1-7 in CCC play.

Curry kept things tight in the opening set, but ultimately could not recover from an 8-0 Gull run early in the set as the hosts jumped out to the early lead. Senior Lexi Pereira (Attleboro, Mass.) notched six kills for the Colonels in the opening set, but the rest of her team combined for just three kills.

Endicott scored nine of the second set's first 10 points to put the set away before it even got started, as the hosts claimed a convincing 25-14 victory.

In the third, the Gulls used three runs of four or more points to keep the pesky Colonels from climbing back into the match. Endicott led 19-13 when it started a 6-0 run to close out the victory.

Pereira finished the day with a match-high 12 kills. Junior Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.) collected five kills and six digs for Curry, while classmate Brooke Reissfelder (Biddeford, Maine) dished out 17 assists while also contributing four digs.

Curry will play its final CCC contest of the season on Wednesday evening with a roadtrip to Suffolk University. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
