Women's Volleyball Tripped Up by UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine - The Curry College women's volleyball team was swept 3-0 by the University of New England in Commonwealth Coast Conference play Tuesday evening at the Harold Alfond Forum. Set scores were 27-25, 25-23, 25-16.

With the loss, Curry slips to 7-6 overall on the season and 1-3 in CCC play.

Curry was led by another top-notch performance from senior outside hitter Lexi Pereira (Attleboro, Mass.), who matched the match-high with 15 kills to go along with 14 digs for the double-double.

Classmate Lauren Guzman (Cranston, R.I.) tied a season-high with 17 digs to lead Curry, and was one of four Colonels to hit double figures in the statistical category. Setter Brooke Reissfelder (Biddeford, Maine) notched 14 digs as well as 26 assists, while libero Avia Fraine (Mattapoisett, Mass.) recorded 12 digs.

Curry continues its road trip with a non-conference showdown against Emmanuel College on Thursday evening. First serve from the Jean Yawkey Center Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
