MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.
We continue the series with Rebecca Johnson (St. Petersburg, Fla.), a rising junior from our women's volleyball program:
How did you get into your sport? Gym class in eighth grade and having friends that played.
Why did you choose Curry? The cooler weather and proximity to Boston.
What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Swimming, going to the gym, and watching movies.
Are you involved in other activities on the Curry campus? If so, explain. I'm going to be in the Forensics Club and I am involved with Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
What is your dream job? FBI Agent
What is your greatest sports moment? Blocking a ball with one hand.
What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Just hanging out with them.
Interesting fact about yourself? I cannot ride a bike.
Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. To skydive, 2. Swim with sharks, 3. Graduate from Curry.
Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? Pregame dancing with my teammates in the locker room.
