MILTON, Mass. – Curry College lost 3-0 to visiting Mount Ida College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's volleyball action Tuesday night in Milton. The Mustangs improved to 4-3 on the season and 0-0 in the conference, while the Colonels dropped to 2-2 overall and 0-0 in league play.
The Colonels played a competitive first set, but eventually fell to the Mustangs, 25-23. Mount Ida took the second set of the match 25-19. The final set was another competitive one, but the Mustangs pulled away in the end, winning 25-21 to seal the victory.
The Colonels were led by Junior Nicole Rice (Woburn, Mass.) with eight kills. Senior Nicole Grambley (North Attleboro, Mass.) added six kills. Junior Courtney Carroll (Fairhaven, Mass.) led Curry with 17 digs, adding one kill. Sophomore Grace Stafford (West Yarmouth, Mass.) had a good day at the service line, collecting three service aces.
The Colonels return to action Thursday night as they travel to Worcester to take on Becker College. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
