Women's Volleyball Blanked 3-0 at Roger Williams in CCC Opener

BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University women's volleyball team defeated Curry College in three sets on Friday night. The Hawks came out strong against the Colonels and went on to post the 3-0 victory in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener for both schools. Roger Williams had 41 kills on the night, hitting a .274 with 13 services aces.

Freshman Molly Quilty would lead the Hawks with 8 kills hitting .667. Junior Katie Thieret had six kills hitting .235, and sophomore Meghan Smith hit .143 for night. Senior Nicole Weber had 25 assists to go along with 7 digs. Sophomore Maria Bates led the team with 11 digs.

For Curry, sophomore Nicole Rice was outstanding, hitting .600 with a team best six kills. Junior Makayla Hughes had a team high eight assists, while freshman Grace Stafford shared team high honors with eight digs and also led the Colonels at the net with one block solo and two block assists.
