Milton, MA - The Curry women's tennis team won their third straight match on Tuesday, defeating Suffolk 4-3. The Colonels are now 3-5 overall and 2-1 in CNE play. The Rams are now 0-4 and 0-3.
The Colonels grabbed an early lead by winning two of the three doubles matches, with the #1 team of Ella Hurley and Serena Wilson winning 6-4, and the #3 team of Sam Ferrara and Kaitlyn Foster winning 6-2.
In the singles matches, the Colonels needed three point to win the match, and that is exactly what they got. Serena Wilson won her #2 match in three sets, falling in the first set 6-3, but battling back to win the final two sets 6-2 and 6-1. Sam Ferrara then won the #3 match 6-3, 7-5. The final winner for the Colonels was Grace Coopee in the #4 match, as she won in three sets. After splitting the first two sets 6-4 and 2-6, she was able to win the third set 6-2 to win her match, and clinch the match for the Colonels.
