Women's Tennis Blanked by Regis in Season Finale

WALPOLE, Mass. - The Curry College women's tennis team concluded its 2022-23 season on Sunday afternoon by falling to Regis College by a final score of 9-0 in non-conference action at the Wimbledon 109 Tennis Center.

With the defeat, the Colonels close out the season with an overall mark of 1-15.

Regis opened the afternoon by sweeping doubles play to take an early 3-0 advantage. The third doubles match was closely contested, but Curry seniors Alicha Hut (Tyngsboro, Mass.) and Ellen Apotheker (Virginia Beach, Va.) fell by a narrow 8-5 margin.

In singles play, the Pride continued to roll, winning all six matches to close out the 9-0 victory. The first singles match was a thriller, with Colonel junior Sasha Borkov (Newton, Mass.) winning the opening set 6-0 before the Pride's Kiana Thompson rallied to win set two 6-1 and set three 6-4.
