Curry College Women’s Tennis Team Sink to Rhode Island College

Milton Mass. – The Curry College women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to non-conference opponent Rhode Island College at the Trent J. Scott Tennis Courts Thursday afternoon.

With the defeat, Curry drops to 2-7 overall on the season and is still 0-4 in CCC play. RIC continues their unbeaten streak with an overall record of 7-0 and 2-0 in the Little East Conference.

Curry gained its only win in singles play. At first singles, sophomore Alexandra Borkov (Newton, Mass.) took down RIC's Victoria Vittori 6-1, 6-4.

Clara Siegmund, Sarah Gonick, Jaimi Vaillancourt, and Amara Devine were all victorious in singles play for Rhode Island College. In doubles action, Siegmund and Gonick as well as Vaillancourt and Devine teamed up for additional RIC victories.

Curry will return to the court Monday to host non-conference opponent Lesley University. First serve is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Trent J. Scott Tennis Courts.
