Women's Tennis Earns a 6-3 Victory Over Mount Ida College in Final Match of Season

MILTON, Mass. – The Curry College women's tennis team defeated visiting Mount Ida College, 6-3, at the Big Nine Courts on Friday afternoon. With the win the Colonels finish their season with an overall record of 2-13.  The Mustangs fall to 1-9 overall in the loss.

Curry won four out of six singles matches and two out of three doubles while Mount Ida earned two victories in doubles matches and one singles match.

The Mustangs No. 1 singles player, Jenna Jarman (Auburn, N.Y.) won her match 6-0, 6-0 against Keeley Hardy (Charleston, S.C.). Curry's No. 2 singles player Kayla Prete (Orange, Conn.) was outlasted in three sets by Rebecca Levy (Plymouth, Mass.), 4-6, 6-4, 10-3. In No. 3 singles, the Colonels Laura Ferris (Shelton, Conn.) bested the Mustangs Katlyn Jesse (Marshfield, Mass., 6-1, 6-1.  Katelyn Harrington (Westport, Mass.) earned the No. 4 singles win for Curry, 6-0, 6-0 defeating Yuliana Chairez (Waltham, Mass.). The Colonel's Stephanie Leblanc (East Bridgewater, Mass.) claimed her tilt verse Amanda Garner (Coventry, R.I.), 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 slot and at the No. 6 position the Colonel's Alexis Mclea-Perry (Plymouth, Mass.) produced, 6-1, 6-0 victories over Mount Ida's Hannah Bassett (Needham, Mass).

In doubles, the No.1 pair of Jarman and Levy earned an 8-1 victory over the Colonels Hardy and Prete. The No. 2 duo of Ferris and Harrington bested the Mustang's Jesse and Chairez, 8-1. In the final match on the day, No.3 Curry doubles partners, Leblanc and Jennifer Dube (Coventry, Conn.) outlasted Garner and Danielle Barnabe (Warwick, R.I.), 8-0.
