Women's Tennis Earns Sixth Seed in TCCC Tournament
MILTON, Mass. - Nichols College has earned the top seed for The 2010 Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) women’s tennis championship, which begins with quarterfinal matchups on campus sites Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.  The Bison (12-1 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming TCCC tournament after posting a perfect 11-0 record in conference play.

Nichols will host #8 seed Gordon College (4-9 overall, 4-7 TCCC) in Dudley, Mass.  The Bison claimed an 8-1 victory in the teams’ regular-season matchup on September 18. Roger Williams University (10-4 overall, 10-1 TCCC) will be the #2 seed and will host seventh-seeded Western New England College (6-7, 5-6) in Bristol, R.I.  During the regular-season, the Hawks posted an 8-1 win over WNEC on September 29. Salve Regina University (9-2, 9-2) will be the #3 seed and will host sixth-seeded Curry College (9-6, 6-5) in Newport, R.I.  In the rivals’ regular-season matchup, the Seahawks earned a 9-0 victory on September 12. Endicott College (8-5, 8-3) enters conference tournament play as the #4 seed and will host fifth-seeded Colby-Sawyer College (8-4, 7-4) in Beverly, Mass.  The Gulls captured a 5-1 victory when the teams faced off on October 5.

Quarterfinal winners will meet in semifinal-round action on Wednesday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. The higher seed will host each match. Semifinal winners will square off for the conference championship on Saturday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the site of the higher seed.
