Women's Tennis Rolls Past Eastern Nazarene, 9-0
QUINCY, Mass. - Curry College rolled past Eastern Nazarene College by the score of 9-0 in a Friday afternoon women’s tennis match in Quincy. The Lady Lions did not threaten in any match as the Colonels used consistent play to complete the sweep.
 
Curry was dominant in both doubles and singles, surrendering just nine total games on the day. The Colonels received very solid individual efforts from each of their players, most notably Devin Curley, Lauren Maloney and Elizabeth Zarkades. First, Maloney and Zarkades paired up in the #3 doubles match to shut out Eastern Nazarene’s Samantha Jones and Monica Gonzalez. Shortly thereafter, Curley blanked the Lions’ Gonzalez, 6-0, 6-0.
 
The win improves Curry’s record to 6-3 overall and 4-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC). The loss drops Eastern Nazarene to 0-7 in TCCC play. The Lady Lions will have the weekend off before squaring off with Regis College on Wednesday. Curry will travel to non-conference foe Newbury College on Monday for a 3:30 p.m. match.
