Colonels Slip Past WNEC 5-4 in TCCC Women's Tennis Action
MILTON, Mass. – Curry College took two of three doubles matches to edge Western New England College, 5-4, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) women’s tennis action Sunday afternoon in Milton. The Colonels improved to 4-3 overall (2-3 TCCC), while the Golden Bears fell to 2-3 (2-3 TCCC).

Wins from Emily Mongello and Lauren Chuha at #1 doubles, and Megan Mulrooney and Devin Curley at #2 doubles provided the hosts with their winning margin. Mongello and Chuha defeated Caitlin Hughes and Nicole DeSimone, 8-5. Mulrooney and Curley took care of Christina Barbarisi and Linda Mustafa, 8-3.  Jessica Haffner and Ashley Czeltka earned a point for WNEC at #3 doubles, knocking off Lauren Maloney and Elizabeth Zarkades, 8-3. 

The two squads split the six singles matches, with Curry getting wins from Mongello at #2, Chuha at #4 and Kate Johnson at #6. WNEC got victories from DeSimone at #1, Hughes at #3 and Haffner at #5.

The Colonels return to action on Tuesday, hosting Regis at 3:30 p.m. The Golden Bears visit Endicott on Tuesday for another 3:30 p.m. start.
