Women's Soccer Silenced by Wheaton

NORTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Wheaton College Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at Nordin Field.

With the defeat, Curry moves back to .500 on the season at 2-2-0.

Wheaton held a narrow 7-6 edge in shots in the opening half, and scored the period's only goal on an 18th minute tally from Sadie Recht. 

The Lyons controlled the play in the second half, outshooting Curry 10-3 to close out their victory. The only marker of the second half came off the foot of Wheaton freshman Kate Wickenheisser.

Leading Curry with two shots was graduate student Samantha Borges (Somerset, Mass.). Sophomore Kiera Lindmark (Norfolk, Mass.) landed Curry's only shot on goal.

Sophomore Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) made six saves between the pipes for Curry, setting a new season high.

Next up for the Colonels, they return home for another non-league match against UMass Dartmouth on Saturday morning. Kick-off is slated for 11 a.m.
