Senior Reflection - Alyson Hampston

Senior Reflection - Alyson Hampston

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics will be honoring its fall senior student-athletes who have had their season put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the Senior Reflection series. They will be featured on curryathletics.com and on social media.

We start the series with Alyson Hampston (North Easton, Mass.):

Major: Community Education & Sociology

Favorite team memory: Beating Roger Williams for the first time since 2004, 3-1, in the 2019 season.

Funniest team memory: Preseason 2019 - lip sync battle and storming the coaches suite as a team with music.

Proudest athletic achievement or favorite moment with the Colonels: The growth of Team IMPACT matches on our campus as a whole and of course having Emily Gallo (Foxboro, Mass.) join our soccer family.

Plans after graduation and how being a student-athlete has prepared you for the future: Pursue a master's degree in social work and work on the legal side of the system to protect children that are at risk.

Something you'd like to say to your underclassmen teammates: I love you guys and never stop working to prove everyone wrong. I've seen the shift in the program and trust me, the best is yet to come. I'm excited to see this program continue to grow and succeed. Do some damage and make sure you leave this program with no regrets.

Best part of being on your team: Having a forever family.

Reason you chose Curry and how it has affected you: I chose Curry because it felt like home. It still does and forever will. This team is my family - every teammate I've had (past and present), the coaches, the other teams on campus, and the trainers. This is one big family that is such a huge part of me and I'll love forever. These are definitely my glory days.

An athletic opportunity you're thankful for: I'm thankful just for the opportunity to play college soccer. I'm forever thankful for all the relationships I've made throughout my years here.

Advice you would give to future Colonel student-athletes: Leave your mark. Not everyone gets the chance to be a part of something like this, so make the most of your experience, and take advantage of every opportunity you can. I know everyone says this, but it really does go by faster than any of us would like it to, so leave with no regrets, feeling like you got the most out of your time here.
