MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.
We continue the series with Samantha Borges (Somerset, Mass.), a rising junior from our women's soccer program:
How did you get into your sport? I started playing at four years old and loved it ever since.
Why did you choose Curry? I chose Curry because of the academics, soccer, and its great location
What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Running
Are you involved in other activities on the Curry campus? If so, explain. I'm involved with SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee).
What is your dream job? Physical Therapist
What is your greatest sports moment? Beating RWU
What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Go to PS (coffee shop).
Interesting fact about yourself? I'm under five feet tall (yikes)
Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. Go to Australia, 2. Run a marathon, and 3. See a World Cup game.
Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? Two high kicks at the half field before each half.
