Women's Soccer Posts Fourth-Consecutive Shutout, Defeating Eastern Nazarene, 2-0
QUINCY, Mass. - Eastern Nazarene College received outstanding play from its keeper, senior Victoria Sontag, but was unable to find rhythm in their offense as the Curry College women’s soccer team knocked off the hosting Lions, 2-0. Sontag made 12 saves in the game as she faced 14 shots in the shutout defeat to TCCC opponent Curry Wednesday night.

Defense dominated the first half of the game as the two teams combined to take just eight shots. Twelve minutes into the second half, Curry’s Brittney McLaughlin (Wilmington, MA) took a shot from teammate Fallon Harrison (Tolland, CT) and tapped it into the corner of the net to give her team a 1-0 lead. At the 70 minute mark, Curry’s Alexsa Hesford (Scituate, RI) capped off the scoring as she gathered a deflection and tapped the ball just past the Lions’ keeper to put Curry up, 2-nil. Two goals is all Curry needed as the defense provided the rest as the Colonels left Veterans Memorial Stadium with a 2-0 win.

Eastern Nazarene’s offense was led by junior Kara Webber who fired off 4 shots.

Sontag’s 12 saves was a game and career high for the senior from Mount Vernon, NH. Curry's goalkeeper sophomore Samantha Hardy (Pepperell, MA) made five saves for the win.

With the win, Curry moves to 6-3 on the season and 4-1 in the TCCC while the loss drops the Lions to 2-5-2 and 0-4-1 in conference play.

Eastern Nazarene will play again on Saturday as they will host TCCC opponent Nichols College while Curry will host Gordon College.
