
MILTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 20-7 by Hartford University in a Conference of New England women's lacrosse game Tuesday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field.
With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 3-8 with a conference record of 0-3.
Both teams wore pink ribbons to support the EvvGirl Foundation, an organization that honors the life of Evan Bard, a victim of a tragic drunk driving incident. Go to https://www.evvgirl.org/ to support the cause, which looks to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future.
Curry scored three times in the first half, starting with an unassisted goal by Ava Doyle halfway through the first quarter. Samantha Sprissler connected with Natalie Keenan with eight minutes left in the second, followed by another unassisted goal by Doyle to close out scoring in the half for the Colonels.
Sprissler and Keenan switched roles in the second, with Sprissler scoring off a pass from Keenan with 6:41 remaining in the third quarter. Grayson Goolgasian joined the list of goal scorers early in the fourth quarter, finding the back of the net on a free-position shot. Keenan and Goolgasian scored again late in the fourth to close out scoring for the contest.
Vivi Helquist played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making 11 saves in the loss.
Curry College returns to action on Saturday, April 5th, with a road game against Wentworth beginning at noon.
