Women’s Lacrosse Takes Down Lasell

NEWTON, Mass. - Curry College defeated Lasell University 16-13 in a collegiate non-conference women's lacrosse game Monday night at Grellier Field.

The win marks two straight for the Colonels, improving to an overall record of 3-5 on the season.

The Curry offense got to work quickly, going up 6-0 in the first quarter for their best start of the season. Nicole Michael scored an unassisted man-up goal to kick things off just two minutes into the game. Ava Doyle scored another unassisted goal four minutes later while Michael scored her second goal halfway through the period. Grayson Goolgasian and Sarah Kelly had goals 26 seconds apart while Samantha Sprissler closed out the quarter with the sixth Curry goal, in the last 13 seconds of play.

Goolgasian and Kelly scored their second goals in the following quarter while Micahel scored her second and third goals at the end of the second and start of the third quarter. Sprissler kicked off a three-goal run for Curry at the end of the third, which Natalie Keenan carried over in the fourth quarter with a pair of goals to put Curry on top 13-8. The remainder of the game saw Michael score her fifth and sixth goals while Goolgasian earned the hat trick, closing out scoring for the Colonels.

Vivi Helquist played the entire game in net for the Colonels, making 12 saves to pick up the win.

Curry College returns to action on Wednesday, March 26th, beginning at 7 p.m.
