MILTON, Mass. – Bianca Simeone '18 (Cranston, R.I.) is the next to be featured in our Alumni Spotlight series. She was a Psychology major and a member of the Curry College women's lacrosse program.

List all postgraduate degrees you have obtained (include institution): Masters of Social Work from Simmons University

Current place of employment: HopeWell, Inc.

Current job title and what does that position entail? I am a social worker/family resource worker who works in intensive foster care alongside the Department of Children and Families.

How did being a student-athlete at Curry assist in preparing you for your career? During my time at Curry, I learned how to be a leader and an advocate for student-athletes on campus. I carried this into my work and it helps bring out my passion for social work!

What piece of advice would you have for current Curry College student-athletes? Enjoy every minute. You will miss those 300-yard sprints!

What is your most fond memory of Curry College Athletics? Our spring break trips to Florida! I am a very nervous flyer, but plane rides were so much fun as a team.

What would you say were your greatest athletic and academic accomplishments at Curry College? My greatest athletic accomplishment would be being named the team Captain by my peers and winning the Colonel Pride Award. I was moved emotionally by both honors! My greatest academic accomplishments would be being accepted into the psychology, sociology, and Alexander Graham Bell Honor Societies. Curry had a lot of amazing professors who only want to see you succeed!

Why did you choose Curry College? I chose Curry because it was far, but not too far from home. I also did an overnight with the women's lacrosse team and immediately fell in love with the campus and atmosphere!
