Gulls Spoil Senior Day as Women's Lacrosse Falls to Endicott 15-6

MILTON, Mass.- Endicott scored 11 second-half goals to defeat Curry 15-6 on Saturday in Milton. With the win the Gulls improve to 13-4 overall and a perfect 11-0 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.  The Colonels fall to 12-5 overall and 8-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Curry jumped out to an early 3-0 lead. Senior Ashley Hansbury (Chelmsford, Mass.) scored two of the three goals and junior Kelly Champagne (Wolfboro, NH) scored one off an assist by Hansbury.  Endicott didn't waste anytime as they went on their own 3-0 run to tie the game.  The Gulls got goals from three different scorers on the run.  Senior Valerie Feldman (Albany, NY), junior Kellie Cunningham (Derry, NH) and sophomore Morgan Deshaw (Danville, NH) each scored one goal.  The Colonels would get two more in the half both scored by junior Jessie Koffman (Andover, Mass.) and the Gulls would get just one more from freshman Kelly Tierney (South Hadley, Mass.). Curry would head into the second half up 5-4.

The second half was all Endicott as they outscored Curry 11-1.  Sophomore goalie Leah Neff (South Berwick, ME) made some great saves as Curry had their chances, but wouldn't score until 18 minutes into the half. 

The Colonels were led by Hansbury who finished the day with three goals, one assist and five draw controls.

The Gulls were lead by Feldman who finished the day with four goals and three assists.  Senior Kristen Micho (Syracuse, NY) also had four goals and one assist.  Junior Carin Czerniawski (Monroe, CT) scored two goals, Deshaw and Tierney each scored one goal and added an assist, Cunningham and sophomore Michelle Loizzo (Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshman Holly Davis (Guilford, CT) each had one.

Junior Maria Lynch (Billerica, Mass./Billerica) continued her solid play in net for the Colonels making 13 stops.  In net for Endicott was Neff who made 14 saves for the win.

Both teams will await to see who they will play in the first round of the TCCC tournament. The quarterfinals will be played on Saturday May 1 at the highest seed.
