Beverly, MA - The Curry Women's Hockey team fell to the #11 ranked team in the country in Endicott on Saturday by a final score of 4-2. With the loss the Colonels fell to 11-13-1 on the season, and 9-9-0 in CNE play. The Gulls finish the regular season at 20-4-1 and 15-2-1. Due to UNE falling to Nichols later in the day, the Colonels clinched the #2 seed in the CNE playoffs, meaning they get a bye in the first round, and will host a semifinal, the first home playoff game in program history.

The Gulls scored twice in the first to get out to a strong 2-0 lead. But the Colonels would not go away, and they cut the lead in half early in the second on a Danielle Reid goal assisted by Hannah Berkowitz and Ava Doyle. The Gulls would get the goal back, but Reid would answer again before the end of the second, once again being assisted by Hannah Berkowitz. This goal was Reid's 18th on the season. All three goals in the second period came on the power play. The third period would be tightly contested, and the Colonels outshot the Gulls 15-7. But Endicott would get an insurance goal midway through the period, and take the game 4-2.

Danielle Reid is perhaps the hottest player in the country right now, as she has now scored a goal in seven consecutive games. Including two in each of the two games this weekend. It is no coincidence that her scoring surge has coincided with the Colonels turnaround on the season, as Curry is 6-1 in those games. Across the seven game streak, Reid has scored 12 goals. Her 18 goals on the season put her in a tie for the sixth most by any player in the country.

Goalie Sarah Kerr made 31 saves in net for the Colonels.

Up Next - The Colonels will host a CNE semifinal game next Saturday. Their opponent and time is TBD.
