Pawtucket, RI - The Curry Women's Hockey team defeated the Johnson & Wales Wildcats in CNE play on Saturday by a final score of 4-0. With the win the Colonels move to 8-12-1 on the season and 7-8-0 in CNE play, while the Wildcats are now 9-11-2 and 6-8-1 With the win the Colonels move into second place in the CNE, which would give them a first round bye in the playoffs.

Midway through the first period the Colonels broke the scoreless game with a goal from Margot Oxman, assisted by Danielle Reid and Emily Bisbee. That lead would be doubled midway through the second when Tommi Nash scored her fourth goal of the season. Just a minute before the period ended, the Colonels added another goal, this time it was Danielle Reid scoring on a deflection off of an Anna Kahl shot. The Colonels would put things out of reach just seconds into the third when Hannah Berkowitz made it 4-0.

This was a rare occasion where the Colonels were outshot (20-18) and beaten in the faceoff circle (28-14). But it did not matter, as the Colonels came away with the win.

Sarah Kerr made 20 saves for her first shutout of the season, and only the second of her career.

Up Next - The Colonels will look to keep their winning ways going on Friday, when they travel to Nichols for a 5:40pm start.
