Women's Hockey Dropped by JWU

Pawtucket, RI - The Curry Women's Hockey team fell to Johnson & Wales on Friday by a final score of 3-1. With the loss, the Colonels fall to 3-3-0 on the season, and 2-3-0 in CNE play. The Wildcats are now 4-2-0 and 4-1-0. 

After a scoreless fist period, the Colonels struck first 13 minutes into the second period, as Grayson Goolgasian scored an unassisted goal. It was her second goal of the season. But just four minutes later the Wildcats would respond with a goal of their own to tie things up. They would then take the lead three minutes into the third period, and added an empty net goal with the waning seconds of the game.

The Colonels had a slight edge in shots at 28-25, and won 31 of the 55 faceoffs. In the faceoff circle, Hannah Berkowitz was dominant winning 15 of her 18 draws.

Colonels goalie Coriann Hoag dropped to 2-2-0 on the season, making 22 saves on 24 shots.

Up Next - The two teams will battle again on Saturday, as the Colonels will host the Wildcats at 3pm.
