Women's Hockey Falls in OT to UNE

Biddeford, ME - The Curry Women's Hockey team fell in the final seconds of overtime on Saturday to UNE by a final score of 3-2. With the loss the Colonels are now 3-2 overall, and 2-2-0 in CNE play, while the Nor'easters are now 1-4-0 and 1-3-0.

The Colonels got ahead late in the first on a Danielle Reid goal, she was assisted by Margot Oxman and Rian Faery. Reid would then double the lead with her second goal of the game 13 minutes into the second period, this time being assisted by Hannah Berkowitz and Grayson Goolgasian. But UNE would score twice in the final 90 seconds of the period to tie things up. After a scoreless third period, the game went to overtime, where the Nor'easters scored the game winning goal with 10 seconds left.

Despite the loss, the Colonels controlled a majority of the game, outshooting their opponents 29-17. They also won 34 of the 46 faceoffs.

Curry goalie Coriann Hoag stopped 14 shots.

Up Next - The Colonels will look to bounce back next Friday when they travel to JWU for a 6pm game.
