Men's and Women's Ice Hockey Earn CCC Weekly Awards

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Two Curry College ice hockey student-athletes earned Commonwealth Coast Conference weekly awards as announced by the conference offices on Tuesday, February 20th.

The women's ice hockey team had a unique end to the regular season, with their last three games resulting in 2-2 ties that ended in shootouts. Graduate goaltender Soleil Archambeault (London, Ontario) was named Goaltender of the Week, making 32 saves against Suffolk on Friday, February 16th, and 50 in the draw against Endicott the following day to secure a playoff spot for the Colonels. Archambeault was also a perfect 11-for-11 in the pair of shootouts.

On the men's side, freshman defender Ryan Prewitt (Abington, Mass.) secured his first CCC Rookie of the Week award with a goal in Curry's 3-1 victory over Suffolk University on Senior Night. The Colonels won their last 12 regular season games, finishing atop the conference with a CCC record of 15-3.

Both teams look forward to the postseason with the women looking to faceoff in a road game against Salve Regina on Wednesday, February 21sst, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
