Women's Ice Hockey Blanked by Western New England

CANTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's ice hockey team fell by a final score of 4-0 to Western New England University in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Canton Ice House Saturday afternoon.

With the defeat, Curry moves to 2-4-2 overall on the season and 0-2-2 in the CCC.

Western New England scored two goals in 12 seconds late in the first period to give the Golden Bears a 2-0 lead heading into the second.

In the second period, the Golden Bears scored two more to take a commanding 4-0 lead to the third.

Neither team scored in the third, as Western New England completed the shutout victory.

Curry graduate student Soleil Archambeault (London, Ontario) stopped 20 of 24 shots she faced in the defeat.

The Colonels will be off for two weeks before returning to action at home on December 2 against Salve Regina. Puck drop from the Canton Ice House is slated for 3 p.m.
