Women's Ice Hockey Blanked by UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine - The Curry College women's ice hockey team fell 3-0 to the University of New England Friday evening in its Commonwealth Coast Conference opener at the Harold Alfond Forum.

With the defeat, Curry drops to 2-2-0 overall on the season and 0-1-0 in the CCC.

UNE scored once in every period to claim the victory. Carolyn Curley scored in the first, Keely Kasputis scored in the second, and Piper Desorcie capped the scoring with a goal in the third to lift the hosts to the win.

Despite the defeat, Curry senior Soleil Archambeault (London, Ontario) turned in a strong goaltending performance, stopping 49 of the 52 shots she faced.

The two teams will meet again to cap off the weekend series on Saturday afternoon at the Canton Ice House. Puck drop is slated for 3 p.m.
