Women's Ice Hockey Shut Out by Endicott

CANTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's ice hockey team suffered a 4-0 defeat to seventh-ranked Endicott College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Canton Ice House.

With the loss, Curry drops to 2-9-0 overall on the season and 1-7-0 in CCC action.

Endicott got on the board first late in the first period when senior Courtney Sullivan put home her own rebound on the power play to put the Gulls ahead 1-0 at the 16:41 mark of the first. Madison Hentosh and Kellie Popkin were credited with assists on the tally.

The visitors netted two more in the second to take a 3-0 lead. Junior Mackenzie Brown factored in both scores, assisting on Lindsay Goodman's first collegiate goal at the period's 11:43 mark, before finding the net for her first of the year just two minutes later.

Jacey Kuhlman tallied an insurance marker in the third period to give the game its final score of 4-0. Goodman and Emmerson Hayes assisted on the goal.

Despite the loss, freshman goaltender Anna Langton (Zimmerman, Minn.) shined for the second consecutive day, turning aside 57 Endicott shots for a total of 129 saves in two games this weekend.

Earning the shutout for Endicott in net was junior Michaela O'Brien, stopping all 15 shots she faced off Curry sticks.

Curry will return to the ice on Friday evening to host Salve Regina in CCC action at the Canton Ice House. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
