Colonels Brought Down by Conference Opponent Endicott College

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Curry College Women's Ice Hockey team suffered a 3-0 loss to conference opponent Endicott College Friday evening.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to 2-8 on the season and 1-6 in the CCC. With the win at home, Endicott improves to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the conference.

The Gulls opened the scoring midway through the first period. Senior forward Courtney Sullivan put the Gulls on top netting a shot on a power-play opportunity. The sole strike would send both sides into the locker rooms with the Gulls in the lead.

The second period saw no scoring from either side through its duration. The Gulls recorded 27 shots to Curry's 2 in the second period, defining the contest in its entirety. Endicott once again found the back of the net late in the third period with a shot from freshman Samantha Fantasia, putting the Gulls up 2-0 with under three minutes left. Just 21 seconds later, Endicott's Sullivan found her second goal of the contest, truly solidifying their victory at home over the visiting Colonels. The contest would conclude 3-0 in favor of the hosts.

Curry freshman goaltender Anna Langton (Zimmerman, Minn.) faced 75 shots in the matchup, saving 72.

The Colonels head back out on the ice Saturday as they host Endicott at home at the Canton Ice House. Puck-drop is slated for 3 PM.
