CANTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's ice hockey grabbed a 4-1 win over New England College Tuesday evening at home at the Canton Ice House.

With the win, the Colonels improve to 2-7 on the season. With Tuesday's loss, the Pilgrims fall to 1-5 on their season.

The first 20 minutes of the contest went entirely scoreless from both sides. The Colonels opened scoring just three and a half minutes into the second period with a successful power-play opportunity. Curry's Asher Printzen (Las Vegas, NV) screamed a shot by Cianna Weir (Olds, Alberta) to put the Colonels up 1-0. Colonel forward Paige Rodriguez (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Ali Olorenshaw (Saskatoon, Sask.) were credited with the assist.

Later in the second period, the Pilgrims equalized the contest on a power-play opportunity. Emily Lenzen (Littleton, Colo.) squared up the contest, netting a strike from AK Fuentes (Aspen, Colo.) and Kaylee Cross (Arvada, Colo.). With the goal from Lenzen, both teams headed into the intermission with the score tied at 1-1.

The Colonels would take back the lead as Asher Printzen finds the back of the net for the second time in the contest. Kalie Gruhlke (Chippewa Falls, Wis.) and Mya Morningstar (Buffalo, Minn.) were tallied for the assist. Curry would further their lead 40 seconds later as Colonel forward Grayson Goolgasian (Johnston, R.I.) zipped a shot past NEC's Weir, putting her side up 3-1 with 13 minutes remaining in regulation. Aher Printzen and Paige Rodriguez would be credited with the assist.

The Colonels would net their final goal of the contest late in the period with a spectacular goal from Danielle Stein (Plainview, N.Y.) ricocheting a shot off the crossbar and in, finalizing the contest 4-1 in favor of the hosts.
