
MILTON, Mass. - Curry College outscored UMass Boston by 22 points in the second half to overcome an 18-point deficit and defeat the Beacons 69-60 in a women's basketball game on Saturday night at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.
Lauren Dunn knocked down an early three to kickstart a Curry run that put the Colonels on top 12-8 with only three minutes remaining in the first quarter. From there the Colonels cooled off with the visitors holding a 34-21 heading into halftime.
Sophie Hilbrunner led the comeback charge in the third quarter, scoring 10 points in the period to ignite a Curry scoring run that culminated in a Samantha Conti three that tied the game at 41-41 with two minutes remaining in the third.
Dunn led the squad in the fourth with eight points to help the Colonels outscore the Beacons 25-15 in the period and grow the Curry lead to as large as 12 points.
Hilbrunner led all scorers with 20 points while grabbing eight rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Dunn finished with 14 points while Kasey Reeves earned the double-double with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Curry College returns to action with a home game against Dean College on Tuesday, November 19th, beginning at 6 p.m.
