MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's basketball team was defeated by Suffolk University by a final score of 58-51 Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.

All 10 of Curry's first quarter points were scored by freshmen, led by four points from guard Samantha Conti (Woodbury, Conn.). Suffolk scored the first nine points of the contest, but Curry rallied to within four at 14-10 at the end of the first quarter.

Conti and classmate Sophie Hilbrunner (Waltham, Mass.) each scored four points in the second quarter, but the Rams outpaced Curry 14-11 to take a 28-21 lead into halftime.

Sophomore Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) scored six of Curry's 10 points in the third quarter, as the Colonels trailed 41-31 heading to the fourth quarter.

The Colonels made a furious comeback effort in the fourth quarter, opening the frame on a 14-3 run to briefly take a 45-44 lead on a Hilbrunner free throw with 5:42 to play, but Suffolk came back to close out the seven-point victory.
