Lauren Dunn Voted CCC Rookie of the Year

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Mass.), a freshman on the Curry College women's basketball team, was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference's Rookie of the Year on Wednesday afternoon as the league announced its All-Conference Teams.

Dunn completed her rookie season leading the Colonels with 13.9 points per game, ranking ninth in the CCC. She ranked 10th in the conference with a three-point percentage of 28.3, knocking down 1.6 triples per game, while also dishing out 2.4 assists per game. Defensively, she ranked second on the Colonels with 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game. 

For her efforts, Dunn was named the conference's Rookie of the Week on five occasions during the 2022-23 season. 

Dunn is Curry's first women's basketball major award winner since the 2018-19 season, when Emily Irwin was named CCC Defensive Player of the Year and Peyton Perine was named CCC Rookie of the Year.
