SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The University of New England has been selected as the favorite to win the 2010-11 TCCC women’s basketball championship, it was announced today by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Voting for the preseason poll was conducted among the league’s head women’s basketball coaches.
Defending TCCC Champion University of New England (23-6, 11-2 TCCC) was a near-unanimous selection to repeat as champion in 2010-2011, receiving 13 of the possible 14 first-place votes. Endicott College and Regis College received an equal amount of points and were selected in a tie for second place. Salve Regina University was chosen to finish fourth and received the remaining first-place vote, while Colby-Sawyer was selected fifth.
Teams received 14 points for every first place vote received, 13 points for second place votes, 12 points for third place votes, down to one point for a last place vote. First place votes are
