
West Hartford, CT - The Curry Softball team split their doubleheader with Hartford on Saturday, falling 5-1 in game one, and winning game two 6-2. The Colonels are now 13-15 on the season, and 6-8 in CNE play. The Colonels have now played seven CNE doubleheaders, splitting six of them.
Game One
The Two teams traded zeroes on the scoreboard until the fifth. The Hawks exploded for four runs, and then tacked on a fifth in the sixth. An RBI single in the seventh by Morgan Barmash put the Colonels on the board, and they would load the bases with one out, bringing the tying run to the plate. But they would be unable to score again.
Caitlyn Wood started in the circle for the Colonels, pitching six innings, and allowing only two earned runs.
Game Two
Hartford got out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first, but the Colonels would answer immediately. A double by Cailene Dupras, and a single from Sam King each knocked in a run in the second, putting Curry up 2-1. They then went up 6-1 in the sixth, highlighted by a two RBI single by Renee Gonneville.
Morgan Barmash and Gracie Keyes each had two hits, with Keyes getting two doubles. Jillian Rogers improved to 9-3 on the season, pitching all seven innings, striking out three batters.
