Milton, MA - The Curry Softball team was swept in their doubleheader on Wednesday by Plymouth State, falling 4-3 and 7-5. The Colonels are now 9-9 on the season, while the Panthers are 11-6.

Game One

Plymouth State would go up 2-0, scoring a run in each of the first two innings. The Colonels got one back in the fourth on an error, but the Panthers added two in the fifth to make it 4-1. The Colonels would close the gap in the sixth, scoring twice on an error and a fielder's choice. But they were unable to tie things up in the seventh.

Game Two

The Panthers raced out to a 7-1 lead, scoring three in the second, and four in the fourth. But The Colonels would not go down without a fight. With two outs in the fourth, they got four consecutive singles by Sam King, Abby Greene, Katie Tobin, and Adrianna Capozzi, which scored a total of three runs. They would then get another run in the fifth on a Jillian Rogers double. The double was Rogers' fifth of the season, and 31st of her career. She currently sits in seventh all time, just six behind Kristen Jackman '10 for the most all time, who had 37. The Colonels would then bring the winning run to the plate in the seventh, but Gracie Keyes would hit a deep fly out to left field to end the game.

Morgan Barmash was handed the loss, allowing seven runs in 3.1 innings. Rogers would relieve her, and pitched a perfect 3.2 innings, striking out six. Katie Tobin, who came into the game with one career hit, had three hits in the game.
