Summer Spotlight - Alex Chase

Summer Spotlight - Alex Chase

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.

We continue the series with Alex Chase (Biddeford, Maine), a rising senior from our softball program:

How did you get into your sport? At five years old, my dad was the coach of my little league team.

Why did you choose Curry? The welcoming environment and the potential to play softball at the higher level. The location caught my attention from the beginning.

What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Reading and weightlifting

What is your dream job? Doctor of Physical Therapy or be a Strength and Conditioning Coach at my own gym.

What is your greatest sports moment? Coming into the first home game of the season as a pinch hitter and hitting a two-run home run against Salem State.

What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Team dinners, team bonding, and anything involving having fun with my friends and teammates.

Interesting fact about yourself? I had surgery on both of my hips within a year of each other.

Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? I always have to have the same headband.
